Forbes Magazine has released its list of 25 most influential members of the liberal media. I was initially struck by the large number of bloggers on the list. You’ll recognize some from my Blogroll.

2. Arianna Huffington, The Huffington Post

8. Josh Marshall, TPM

1o. Kos, The Daily Kos

16. Matthew Yglesias, Think Progress

18. Glen Greenwald, Salon.com

19. Andrew Sullivan, The Daily Dish

22. Ezra Klein, The American Prospect

23. Keven Drum, Mother Jones

And that’s just the ones who identify primarily as bloggers. Many other members of the list, including Paul Krugman (1) and Rachel Maddow (7) also keep blogs. It’s almost as if this blogging thing has caught on.

The coolest part of this list, though, is the appearance of my dad’s cousin David Shipley at #9.

“Relatively unknown, compared with others on this list, he runs the most widely read op-ed page in America. The page is poised to challenge left-leaning shibboleths from within the fold while still remaining faithful to the Times‘ core liberal values.”
