I’ve been suggesting for a while now that Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty will be the GOP’s nominee for President in 2012.

The Fix points out that he has been buffing his resume in the past few months, recently visiting Israel and Germany, to prepare for the spot. Flexing his foreign policy muscles in the next two years will be important for Pawlenty as Governors are often considered weak on international issues when vying for the top job.

Pawlenty would be a smart choice for the GOP. He has consistent high approval ratings in what was considered until this year a crucial swing state.
